Support Our Kids
The need in our community is real. Our Clubs serve over 8,000 youth ages 6 to 18 each year. Of those youth, 58% come from single-parent households, and 68% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The demand for support from Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland is growing.
As more and more families seek support from Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland, our community’s help is more essential than ever to help us carry out our mission.
Why Help?
For many of our kids, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland is the only thing that stands between them and real dangers:
- Low Graduation Rates – According to a study conducted by the Minnesota Department of Education, only 52% of these disenfranchised youth graduate on time.
- Risky Behaviors – Children may not have a safe, nurturing place to go after school, potentially exposing them to risky behaviors, negative peer pressure, and bullying.
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse – Some will turn to drug and alcohol use, fall into depression, and have little or no access to support programs for help.
You Can Make a Difference.
Giving to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland – whether by donating or volunteering – is an investment in a proven model that builds great futures for our kids. Together, we will continue to inspire, prepare, and create a solid foundation for those who need us most: the children and youth in our own neighborhoods and communities.
