Our Impact

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland we are fortunate to work closely with youth in the Clubs.  We have the opportunity to see first-hand the difference the Club is making in the lives of youth.

A majority of the youth we serve do not have support at home, least of all for academics. The Club staff works to break down barriers to academic and educational resources and fill the gap between home and school by building skills to combat key issues like lack of focus and high frustration levels.

One of our major successes has been in creating direct partnerships with the schools. Through the use of data privacy agreements club staff have the opportunity for regular communication directly with the young person’s teacher to address issues and increase accountability.

Direct partnership with school also allows us to boost transportation to our club sites.  Five schools currently bus directly to our Duluth club locations and we are working diligently to provide access from more schools.
